Lyrics
There are things I have done
There's a place I have gone
There's a beast and I let it run
Now it's running my way

There are things I regret
That you can't forgive you can't forget
There's a gift that you sent
You sent it my way

So take this night and wrap it
Around me like a sheet
I know I'm not forgiven
But I need a place to sleep

So take this night
And lay me down on the street
I know I'm not forgiven but I hope
That I'll be given some peace

There's a game that I played
There are rules I had to break
There's mistakes that I made
But I made them my way

So take this night
And wrap it around me like a sheet
I know I'm not forgiven
But I need a place to sleep

So take this night
And lay me down on the street
I know I'm not forgiven
But I hope that I'll be given some peace
Some peace, some peace

That was absolutely stunning! You really used the music and the source in a way that makes this more than the sum of its parts - beautiful mood setting, use of motion and lyric ties. Just gorgeous, and really powerful. Must rec.

Thanks Brad! You hit on a lot of what I was concentrating on while making the vid (particularly mood and lyric ties). It's gratifying to know it came through. Thanks again for the lovely feedback!

Oh my freaking GOD THIS WAS INCREDIBLE. On the beat exactly where I'd expect it, telling a great story.

That was beautiful! You used such subtle musical cues that I think few people could hit as well through motion and editing, and that really elevated the vid to another level.

Just got home and had a chance to watch this amazing vid! Thank you so much! This was better than anything I could have ever expected! I loved the parallels you drew between Robin and the Red Hood and again with Red Hood and the Joker. And the timing to the beat was also perfect! The song you chose worked really well and some of the scenes with the Joker were just absolutely chilling when set to the music. I'm sure I will be watching this again and again!

That was amazing. The editing, the emotion... it's incredible. I really wish I had context because I can tell I'm missing a lot of the subtleties, but even without, it was incredibly powerful for me. Brava!

Whoof. Excellent. This is the second (I think) Batman: Under the Red Hood festivid I've seen, and the second that has blown me away. Even though once again I know I'm missing massive quantities of subtext and character insight, the story conveyed here is still powerful.

Here, I will use my Byron icon in honor of Batman's (/Robin's/The Joker's) epic angst.

Thank you! This is the first Red Hood festivid, but I also made a Batman Year One festivid last year, which may be what you're thinking of? Regardless thank you for the very kind feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the vid so much!

Amazing song choice, and no prior knowledge required to understand the magnitude of everything happening in the vid. Perfect!

I did try to strip the narrative down to its most iconic elements so that people unfamiliar with the source could still follow it, it's good to hear it worked. Thank you!

If there's one thing DC (the company) do right, its their animated movies. And when you get your hands on them, its just pure audio-visual bliss.

Loved the film "Under the Red Hood" and this vid delivers more justice than Batman himself. Its got all the bells and whistles that one expects from a DC production and the emotional core that seems to becoming a trademark for you. Great stuff!

Wow thanks so much for the awesome feedback! I agree, DC's animated movies (and TV, for the most part) are on point, unlike much of their other current endeavors, heh.
