askldjalkdh OH MY GOD. I don't think I can even textually render my love for this vid. There was a lot of shrieking as I watched it. DEAR VIDDER, I LOVE YOU A LOT. I just. You used the song I suggested! And you made it work SO WELL! And oh god, the way you set up the parallels between Audrey and Laura and their creepy daddies, and the flick of the cigarette, and the owl, and the Dale Cooper, and the everything! I will have to come back and leave more detailed comments after I watch this vid a dozen more times. THANK YOU SO MUCH. It is everything I wanted and more, and I am still making noises only dogs can hear! (Luckily, no dogs are nearby to be tormented by my festivids squee.)

<3 <3 <3!!

That's gorgeous, and horrifying, just as intended. Great work!

This vid is so incredibly beautiful and freakishly disturbing - I love it to pieces and killer song choice.
Jan. 15th, 2010 02:57 am (UTC)
This was thrilling, intense, lyrical, and insanely sensual, and oh so fantastically disturbing. The song choice is perfect - on a subtextual level the mashup of the two songs and their concepts is an amazing metaphor for the show's intent itself, and you paid that off in spades in the vid.

OMG so creepyperfect! So beautifully fucked up! So stylishly edited to maximize the Lynchian mindfuckery!

You make excellent use of this terrific music. Awesome vid!

Absolutely amazing. I had no idea "Fever" could be such a disturbing song. I love how you managed to find space for both the weirdness that is Twin Peaks and the deeply disturbing relationships at the centre of it.

Festividder, this was totally creepy. Great job.
Jan. 15th, 2010 06:59 am (UTC)
This is really gorgeous work. The parallels are fantastic and I just love how you utilised all of TP's amazing, disturbing imagery. I especially loved how you used the male vocals. Awesome, and I can't wait to download it. :D

I still haven't finished Twin Peaks but I just had to watch this. I think I'm in love with how twisted this is. It's deeply unsettling and deeply disturbing and it makes me slightly uncomfortable and wow, this sounds bad but it's not, I swear! It's an amazing and intelligent vid that hits me right in the gut. Brilliant! ♥

Oh and I forgot! The bit with the men singing and the Hornes+ dancing is just chilling!

Jan. 15th, 2010 02:30 pm (UTC)
Wow. You got it in one! The best of TP at it's most insane. Yeah.

Jan. 15th, 2010 03:52 pm (UTC)

That was absolutely fantastic. Fuckin' A+.

I am sorry I do not have anything more substantive to add. I'm afraid* you have done something just a bit too awesome to let my brain still work.

*Please note: I am enjoying being afraid.

I have never even seen the show, but this is totally creepy and AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL. I love it!
Jan. 15th, 2010 06:27 pm (UTC)
Oh wow, this is so gloriously fucked up! Need download now.
Jan. 15th, 2010 06:54 pm (UTC)
Wonderfully creepy and disturbing, and so effective! Love this. Great vid.
Jan. 15th, 2010 07:17 pm (UTC)
This vid is very creepy, and very beautiful, and had almost seduced me into ordering the series. Loved it a lot!
Jan. 15th, 2010 09:17 pm (UTC)
Aieeeeeeek. I am not familiar with Twin Peaks, and now I can't tell whether the disturbing/compelling factors of this vid are enough to make it worth the nightmares. It's tempting, though.
Jan. 15th, 2010 09:24 pm (UTC)
Wow! Creepy COOl and smart and just amazing!
Jan. 15th, 2010 09:29 pm (UTC)
This is morbid and creepifying and luscious -- like biting into something so sweet, it burns your throat on the way down. And, yes, Leland Palmer and his cane dance = still the most terrifying thing in the world.
Jan. 15th, 2010 09:52 pm (UTC)
Fantastic use of FWWM footage to really bring out the TV source. Such a great combination of the vivid seediness of the movie with the quirky creepy surrealism of the tv show.

Also really good use of a mashup. Making fever creepy with this footage is only one part of what makes this successful, the Passenger underneath the whole thing comes on like this unstoppable force. The everpresent nature of BOB and the other place having so fully penetrated this world and how the horror and seductiveness of it all curses thoes who look into it. Brilliant.
Jan. 16th, 2010 12:05 am (UTC)
Ooh! Yummy and dirty mash-up. And oh the bad daddies and damaged, dirty girls! Lovely use of the imagery of masks, reflections, overlayed identities and hiding/revealing curtains. Very Lynch. It's possible that Sherilyn Fenn is the most beautiful woman in the world. Yep, it's very possible.
Jan. 16th, 2010 01:42 am (UTC)
This was absolutely beyond amazing! It was so disturbing yet completely brilliant. The parallels between Laura and Audrey were phenomenal, and I loved the way you worked in Dale's possession at the end- as well as Ben and Leland's influences. This is so great! I can't wait for a DL link!

My *goodness*, this is creepy. Even without knowing the source, it has a very concrete *wrongness*--very interesting, very compelling, and very CREEPY. Well done! ;)

This is magnificent. Bizarre imagery with a good beat and strip joint family values you can really dance to. Your cutting and timing is a pleasure to watch and your clip use is extraordinary (the strawberries, the phone cord, the bowl, the fan, the curling fingers, the clock hands, the leaves and the hand and the cigarette -- you know the ones).

I haven't watched the source, but you've taken all this random, surreal and grotesque material and made it into this process that feels unquestionable and unstoppable and compulsively watchable.

Great job.
Jan. 16th, 2010 10:23 am (UTC)
This was incredibly creepy and beyond awesome. I love how you contrasted Laura with Audrey, the use of Bob and just about everything.
Jan. 16th, 2010 12:16 pm (UTC)
Phwaor, creepy. Kind of disturbed by the women vs men thing that's going on there. It's almost like there's a secret mens society that's terrorizing the women. Haven't seen the show so I don't really know what's going on, but love lots of little bits like the clicking to the music, and the cross-fading clock and the red lights coming on. Yep. Disturbing!
Jan. 16th, 2010 02:48 pm (UTC)
*freaks out* OMGOMGOMG! That was a-mazing!
Jan. 17th, 2010 12:07 am (UTC)
I still don't know if I ever want to brave this series, but this was a great vid.
Jan. 17th, 2010 02:01 pm (UTC)
This scared the crap out of me--great job!
Jan. 17th, 2010 07:01 pm (UTC)
Wow! It's awesome!!! I keep watching it over and over again. At first I was thrilled to hear what song you picked for this...then just remembering just how good that show was...then I was in awe of how good you remember it and how you knew to pick great scenes...and then I watched it again, just enjoying the editing ...:)
Great, great vid!!!
Jan. 18th, 2010 10:05 am (UTC)
OMG I think all Twin Peaks vids should be required to come with a BOB warning. Holy crap is that terrifying!

This vid is amazing!
Jan. 18th, 2010 01:09 pm (UTC)
This is almost unbearably disturbing and also pure genius. I'm a bit in awe of you for distilling the creepiness and wrongness of the show into this perfectly edited thing of beauty, the way you've so fittingly portrayed it as this long, wacky, sensual and absolutely horrifying dance. Bravo.
Jan. 18th, 2010 04:43 pm (UTC)
This Twin Peaks fan gives this ten thumbs and a One Armed Man UP!
Jan. 18th, 2010 09:51 pm (UTC)
Awesome! Nice job and what a great version of that song.
Jan. 18th, 2010 11:42 pm (UTC)
Wow. Shiveringly creeptastic. I love it.
Jan. 19th, 2010 01:34 am (UTC)
You have out-Lynched Lynch with this. What extraordinary work! From the inspired song choice to the way you use the mash-up's structure, contrasting the confusion and pain of the women with the cheerful evil of the men -- I am in total awe of this. I was punching the air and shouting YES! It's so perfect. You rule, whoever you are.
Jan. 19th, 2010 02:18 am (UTC)
Creepy to the max. Fantastic!
Jan. 19th, 2010 04:06 am (UTC)
This is very great. Just watched it three times with many more I'm sure to follow.

Love that you worked the oft-neglected Jean & Jacques into this. Too bad Bernie was left out, but I guess they don't give you much of him to work with.

"Bernard, we've go you tied to a chair..."
Jan. 19th, 2010 01:23 pm (UTC)
Really great job - and the song works so well with all the creepy footage you used.
Jan. 19th, 2010 04:04 pm (UTC)
THIS IS SO BRILLIANT. I wish I had words for how brilliant this was but I do not and oh my god, the girls of Twin Peaks and I REALLY JUST HAVE NO WORDS. It totally captures the terror and the sense of inevitability and the haziness and I want to re-watch the whole series right now. Thank you thank you thank you.
Jan. 21st, 2010 06:15 pm (UTC)

This is disturbingly awesome - beautifully put together!
Jan. 31st, 2010 03:40 am (UTC)
Wow! I love how you used all the imagery, and the song choice was inspired. Creepy & awesome!
