Oh man, this is GORGEOUS. I can't even. Thank you so, SO much, festividder! You captured the essence of everything I love about this little fandom-that-never-was.

Love the music and the whole flow of this vid, the establishing shots of the characters and the space, real space and brain-space. I love the intercutting parallels you found, especially daww those melancholy happy shots at 1:03-1:17, the whole sequence at 2:23 and the fumbling *hands* and then gaaah Sue screaming and how the whole vid has an emotional breakdown at that point.

Also the touching/holding at 2:57. I LOVE THIS VID. :)

This is FABULOUS. Firstly, thank you for the one line plot summary because I would have been lost without it, but with it, everything makes perfect sense. Well, enough sense to follow the vid, anyway. I love the editing and the musicality (favourite moments are 1:53/1:55, but other notable moments are many), and I adore how it builds up in the endgame and finishes on those incredibly chilling images. Fantastic work.

Thank you again!! Also, I'm really glad the summary was clear. I deleted about half a paragraph of explanation, because it just...started to get way too complicated.

This was awesome! I love the musicality and how well the emotions and visuals build in time with each other.

Virtuality! I was so mad after watching the pilot because I just KNOW that this would have been an amazing show...really loved what you did with the limited material- The video flows smoothly between the real scenes and the scenes from the VR environment. Great job!

Wow! Compelling and powerful! I've never seen the source, but I'm going to hunt it down now because of this vid. That was just wonderful, and chilling.

I clicked on this because the title sounded promising, and the payoff was excellent. As someone else said above, thank you for the summary, it really helped make sense of what was going on for someone like me who hasn't seen the source (but wow, now I want/plan to). Gorgeous editing - the character introductions, the claustrophobia of the ship, the escapes into virtuality that begin to collapse, the relationships and sanities collapsing at the same time, and oh, love the closing contrasts between closed and open spaces, how they seem to mean freedom but also deliver death.

Source successfully pimped, btw - we rented the movie last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thought it was interesting what went into the vid vs. what didn't - successful choices, but it made for a surprise in that we had the whole second half of the movie still to go by the time we'd seen all the footage we recognized!

Huh! Very interesting. Sometimes I find it a tricky line of how much to spoil plot-wise in a vid, especially when you know most people won't have seen the source. I'm kind of glad there was still lots left to surprise you in it, to be honest. And I'm doubly glad you thought the vid choices were successful, considering how much it *didn't* show. Hopefully it wasn't false advertising.

Not at all. It struck just the right balance for us - we got the plot and characters we expected & wanted to see, the tone was indeed a bit like Battlestar Galactica (I'd guessed, mostly from the shot of that one young woman smiling on "light in our eyes") (and seeing Ron Moore's name in the credits explained that!), and then there was even more beyond that, you know?

Whoa! I've never seen or heard of this show (and also failed to read the summary first, though I think I picked up the general idea), but I totally love this vid -- it has such a great build and the editing is fab.

I've never seen the source and never read the summary until after, and I totally felt enclosed by the spaceship, and all the cameras watching ALL THE TIME to amp up the tensions and the glorious escape through those virtual reality goggles. I flew on that bike and was an awesome rock star. :) This was just gorgeous and wonderfully edited and you brought all the emotions to life.

Holy crap, someone else saw Virtuality? And this is AWESOME. Amazing job at setting up the story and characters, then showing how everything very quickly goes to hell. This has to be one of my favorite vids this year.

I can hardly believe that there's such an awesome vid for this tv show that barely was (but had so much potential). WOW. :D
