This is an incredible vid. You've done a truly remarkable job of speaking for the women here, for the victims, for the ones who are forgotten from one episode to the next, and I'm so impressed that you've done it without needing a major character as focus at all. And maybe that also points to a strength in the show, because so many of the women in this vid are not only victims, but major characters in their own right, and when they pop up in the vid, they have me going "Yes, her, I remember her, she was awesome". And I love you for putting them all together in one place, for shining this light on the repetitive use of violence against women in these kinds of shows, and for then underlining how each of these women is more than what is done to her, how they are each individuals and people and how they have the strength to go on, in spite of everything.

This is an amazing vid. Thank you so much for making it.

thank you so very much! again. i'm incredibly pleased that you like it so much - that this works for you.

it was surprisingly easy to leave out the main cast - before making the vid i was thinking that i'd probably have to include them at some point, but i realized (much more than while just watching it) that this show is so special to me, because it focuses so much on the victims of the crimes (and also the criminals themselves). i didn't need them at all ;)
& you're right, a lot of the one-episode-characters are simply amazing. they all have lives & feelings and strength in some way.

I don't watch procedurals because I can't stand to sit through all the terrible things that happen to women on these shows. You've stared that terror in the face and lived to tell the tale.

This is a vid that needed to be made, but more than that, it's incredibly powerful and moving to watch. Breathtaking. I know you didn't make it for me, but I'm as grateful for it as if it were mine. Thank you.

i'm really happy to hear that this worked for you - it's such a sensitive subject... i wasn't sure i handled it with the care it deserves.

Wow. That was incredibly affecting; I actually did not get quite the same level of female empowerment out of it as others seem to have - there was a section that definitely felt that way, that gave me a surge of hope, but ultimately I felt that bookending with the dead women, the repetition of the wildly staring eyes, that one pull away shot of the woman screaming behind the grate (*shudder*), those are the things that are staying with me here. This was an excellently done vid and worthy of re-watching because there is so MUCH going on here. I'm really impressed, festividder!

thank you so much!
& i know what you mean - i wanted to give the women more agency than i actually have, but somehow it just didn't work out :/ i was a bit worried about posting the vid, because it's such a sensitive subject... but i'm very happy that this still somehow worked for you, it really means a lot.

This is the vid I've been waiting to see for this show. I adore the main characters, but this, YES. The meta part of the show, the feminism. Thank you. Your vid is wonderful. :)
